St. Peter’s gates

(St. Peter’s gates at dusk. Harpers Ferry, WV. June 2008. © Robin)

Throughout your life, there will be many little endings, every day. It is these endings that somehow give shape to the fragments of your life that are called experience. And it is this ‘experience’ that makes up one’s life.

Yep, life is the journey, not the destination. I love the photo.

St. Peter’s gates…hmmmm…isn’t that the name of the gates that always appear in those jokes about smokers who die and go to heaven? Not that I want to make your photo be about jokes, but that’s what popped into mind when I saw the name of the cemetery.

I really, really love the “No Parking After Dark” sign … which seems darkly ironic in a way that appeals deeply to my offbeat sense of humor.

I wondered if anyone would notice that sign, David. It appeals to my sense of humor too.
