Like a welcome summer rain, humor may suddenly cleanse and cool the earth, the air and you.
~ Langston Hughes
We had a lot of rainfall in a short period of time yesterday. It’s a wonder the rowboat, which once again escaped to wander the pond on its own, didn’t sink. If we ever catch it again, it’s going to require a lot of bailing.
I’m going to be slowing down on the posts at Bountiful Healing over the next few months. I have some other projects I’d like to work on, including a book in the works, and that means freeing up time. You wouldn’t think posting a photo and a quote would take up much time, but it does. It even surprises me how much time it takes to put the two together to my satisfaction.
I will still be posting at Life in the Bogs on a daily basis. Eventually I’ll merge the two now that I’ve worked out how I wish to do it. BH will still be around for a while. The merger is on the list of things to do when the cold weather returns.

Love the rainy photo. Poor old rowboat!
Keeping 2 blogs is a tremendous amount of work. I committed to a second photoblog for the year, and I’m OK until I go out of town. Then it’s impossible. I’ve been drifting over the Bogs blog, because I discovered there’s more activity over there–your everyday activity I mean, and I like that.
And a book. Exciting!
Thanks, Bo.
I’ve been drifting over to the Bogs blog, too. That’s why there’s so much everyday activity. I think it will work out fine, merging the two blogs, since I’m now doing the 365 photo challenge over there.
aha
a merger
that should make life easier for you
over the past few years, I’ve ended up with a few blogs
but I’ve suddenly lost interest in all of them
enjoy your book project
they can take an enormous amount of energy and time
make sure you let us in on the finished product when done
Kel: Should make life tons easier without two blogs to deal with on a regular basis.
I hope you don’t lose interest in blogging for long. I’d miss you if you weren’t posting.
i love rain
Me too, Aefiel.
I know exactly what you mean by ‘time consuming’. The Bogs Blog looks wonderful. Will look forward to visiting you there. And – the lone rowboat in the rain is wonderful.
Thank you, Marcie.
Beautiful rainy capture, and it looks like a watercolor sketch. Ah well, I understand about the blogs. I couldn’t keep up with my third blog or a daily photo and writing for it. Not enough time in the day and I have two other blogs, the main and the side photo blogs, to keep up with. It’ll be neat to see what you came up with for a merge. I’ll wander over to the Bogs Blog to keep up with you there. The best on on the book.
Thanks, Anna.
I think the merge will be more or less more of the same. lol! If I need a quote to start the day, it will show up at Bogs blog instead of here, that’s all.
What a story photo this is.. Wonderful composition.
Thanks, Preston.
I think the story that goes with this photo involves an ark and lots of animals…
Oh, I love it when it pours like that. Wonderful shot. That rowboat is the perfect muse.
I wanted to say that I know how much work it takes to just post one photo and a bit of text. Argh! It’s SO MUCH work. I’m amazed at how you keep up two blogs and do so with such frequent posts, as well as the behind-the-scenes photography work. Cool about your other projects. That’s why we’ve slowed down on posting, too.
Ybonesy: You’re right about the rowboat being the perfect muse. It’s now part of an ongoing series. For some reason, it doesn’t like to stay moored. No matter how well we tie it to something, it manages to come untied and then goes off to float around the pond on its own. We’ve just about given up trying to keep it tied to the shore.
As always, wonderful photograph. It really does look like it was altered with one of them fancy photoshop effects. But, unlike myself, you have the talent, the timing and the eye, so you don’t have to cheat.
I’ll have to add your bogs blog to my blogroll so I remember to stop by there more often.
Thanks, LB.
I cheat a little (mostly just to sharpen things up).
Looks like a Monet. Just beautiful.
Thank you, Anhinga.
Wow! Super-cool image.
Two blogs is a lot of work. One is much easier.
Yep, one is much easier.
Thanks, Stevo.
I love this image; then again I love the rain.
Nevertheless, the rain is beautifully captured here. Lovely, as is your choice of words by Langston Hughes.
Thank you, Kaosar. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
